Thank you for reading today. Our greatest desire is that you would be encouraged in the Lord! In my daily time with God today, the Holy Spirit spoke to me about the COVID-19 Pandemic and God’s Judgement. I read a great message this week by Evangelist Terry Danford. I am using some of that message today with Bro. Danford’s permission. I have received some interesting questions recently about the Pandemic.  Is this the judgement of God upon us?  Is this the end of America? Is this the end of the world?  Is the Anti-Christ going to come on the scene?  What should we do? I think over the last 4 weeks we have seen things that no one has seen here in our lifetimes. We are told, it is going to get worse.  It looks so every day.  Some people are not taking it seriously and endangering others and their lives. Others are fearful about what happens next.  Who would have thought that America would be practically shut down? So, is this the end?  Or is it the beginning of the end? Could it be that all nations around the world are in the valley of decision? Is God giving us a chance to repent? God’s Word does discuss the subject. Obviously, there is a great need around the world and in America to turn back to God. I want to take a few minutes today to help us think.  Not be a discouragement, but if some people take this seriously our God will hear us!

What Is the Current Problem?

For the last 7 decades America has been pushing God out of America as are many other countries. Just some facts to think about here. In 1963 the Supreme Court declared school-sponsored prayer and Bible reading unconstitutional. According to the CDC America has murdered 46,413,319 babies from 1976 to 2016.

Genesis 4:10, And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.

Can you imagine 46.5 million babies crying in the ears of God for justice must sound like?

There is no question that America and the world have lost their moral compass. As of 2005, 4.85 million unmarried couples were living together, and as of 2002, about half of all women age 15 to 44 had lived unmarried with a partner.  In 2007, it is estimated that 6.4 million households were maintained by two opposite sex persons who said they were unmarried.
That kind of sin never stands still and is only getting bigger. According to estimates from the 2019 Current Population Survey Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASECO), there are 543,000 same sex married couple households and 469,000 households with same sex unmarried partners living together. This next statistic is a huge problem for those we do Biblical Counseling with. Approximately $13 billion was spent in the US on Pornography (Internet Filter Review, 2006). Every second, $3,075.64 is being spent on pornography! Christian men are contributors in this as we know this from our Biblical Counseling.

Colossians 3:5-7, Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, (a generic term for any form of sexual impurity) inordinate affection, (homosexuality) evil concupiscence (evil lust) and covetousness, which is idolatry:  (6) For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: (7) In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. (8) But now ye also put off all of these….

America and much of the world has been guilty of idolatry. As of February 2020 America’s national debt was 25.3 Trillion. Would it be fair to say that much of this deals with covetousness?  Probably.

We are guilty of idolatry. Anytime Israel was guilty of idolatry it never went well with them!  Why would America and other countries feel they can get away with this?

Who would have thought that an invisible virus could practically shut down America and many countries of the world? If we believe the Bible and know what it says it certainly has to be in our mind that God is giving people an opportunity here. He has dealt with people before like this. Is it safe to say God is seeking to get our attention?

God’s Warning

Psalms 9:17, The wicked shall be turned into helland all the nations that forget God.

1 Peter 4:17, For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

We are not a godless nation-it is just that God is not first.  That has bled into His churches and among His people.

I believe we are deceived, if we think that sexual sin is not rampant among God’s people, our Biblical Counseling says so. Do you think God’s people are covetousness, greedy, selfish and are discontented? Our Biblical Counseling says so. God in His longsuffering and mercy has given us a solution in His Word.
Biblical Solution

James 4:6-10, But he giveth more grace (divine help). Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. (7)  Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.  (8)  Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.  (9)  Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.  (10)  Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Humble one’s self before God. Pray and ask God for his mercy, help, wisdom, and protection. Seek His face, turn from your sin, name it and repent of it. Ask God that our country will turn back to Him. Pray for fellow Christians, pray for our country. Pray for God’s mercy on us and that a great turning to Him will take place. Pray for the families who have already lost loved ones and cannot be with them in their death. (This is extremely painful). Pray for those healthcare workers who are getting overwhelmed and are scared they will get the virus and have gotten it. Some have died trying to help others. Pray for the President and our leaders for God’s wisdom and help. Our President called for a National Day of Prayer. I wonder how many took that seriously? Maybe as a country we are in the valley of decision and what we do here with God is now going to be very important. Is this just the beginning? Maybe!

As a pastor for 41 years, and I know it is for many pastors, the frustration comes when God’s people hear His Word but don’t hear His Word. They listen but do not apply God’s Word. They live a religious life, but not one with a real, intimate, personal, and passionate relationship with God. God is certainly not first in their lives.  Dear friend turn to Him today!  I am so glad for I John 1:9. I am thankful for God’s forgiveness!

1 John 1:8-9, If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  (9)  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we confess our sin it is important that we turn from it.

Remember, be the vessel God can use today by asking the Holy Spirit to show you if you are living your life not dealing with your sin.  Are you living in the sin of allowing selfish carnal thinking or listening to rule your life and making you lie or rationalize your sin. Be all you can be for Him today and have a powerful testimony of living a Spirit controlled yielded godly life that is serving and living with humility, joy and peace! We encourage you today to make Jesus Christ real in your life by humbly yielding to Him and living for Him, not the life of selfish carnal thinking and speaking. It is an important choice! Tell God you want to yield yourself to Him today and be a trusting, useful, and rewarded servant! Rejoice in Him today!

Dear friends, we pray for many of you daily!  Be encouraged, do and be well today!

With a heart to glorify God and serving the God of answers,
