Thank you for reading today. Our greatest desire is that you would be encouraged in the Lord today! In my daily time with God today, the Holy Spirit spoke to me about living a sloppy life?
As a Pastor for 41 years and a Biblical Counselor as well, I realize there are different personalities. However, the Bible does say something about living a sloppy life. Some people live their life in such a disorganized fashion that they are always in a mess. Bills unpaid, consistently disorganized. Time management is a real problem. Lack of focus on what is needed to get done.
A Sloppy Life Leads to a Wrecked Life
Many years ago, I spoke in a church that was a total train wreck! The pastor had several children and as we went into the service, there were pop cans, potato chips, and candy bags on the pews. The children were throwing a dodge ball against the auditorium walls! Honestly, I was totally shocked at what I saw. I had never seen anything like that before. The children’s dress was dish shelved and the place just had total lack of organization. The pastor and his wife were totally oblivious to what was going on around them. I find many families like this today. I told my wife, I think this pastor will not be in the ministry long. A few months later he was gone and has never been in the ministry again. It was a total disaster because of a sloppy life!
Proverbs 18:9, He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
1 Corinthians 9:24-25, Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. (25) And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
A Godly Life Is a Focused Life
You only have one life to live for God. Leave your life as unto the Lord! I find that many people are unfocused because they try to do too many things at once. Organize your life by the hour. Make a list of things to do today and prioritize what you are doing. Dreamers get distracted and spend hours on things that really do not matter, and fail to see their world falling down around them. They have no spiritual priorities. If something else looks like fun they will spend hours on it and fail to get the tasks done that really mean something. There is always an excuse for their sloppy life. Ask God every day at the start of the day, what do you want me to do today? Write it down and prioritize it. Mark it off when you get it done and move to the next thing.
Proverbs 19:15-16, Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger. (16) He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
Remember, be the vessel God can use today by asking the Holy Spirit to show you if you are allowing sloppiness to rule your life. Are you living in the sin of allowing sloppiness to rule your life? Ask God to forgive you and cleanse you from these sins! Verbally ask God to show it to you! Be all you can be for Him today and have a powerful testimony of living a Spirit controlled yielded godly life! We encourage you today to make Jesus Christ real in your life by humbly yielding to Him and living for Him not the life of sloppy disappointments. Tell God you want to yield yourself to Him today!
