Thank you for reading today. Our greatest desire is that you would be encouraged in the Lord today! In my daily time with God today, the Holy Spirit spoke to me about learning what to think in perilous times. The Apostle John shares with us some precious verses for difficult times. At the time of this writing he was the last Apostle left standing!
1 John 4:10-12, 18-19, 5:2-4, Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us,and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (11) Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. (12) No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. (18)There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect (mature) in love. (19) We love him, because he first loved us. (2) By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. (3) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. (4) For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
What Do We Think When Our Life Is
Turned Upside Down?
Our lives are being turned upside down and the economy is going out of control because of COVID-19 virus. Many businesses and all schools have been shut down or are partially working. The President is on television each day telling us to stay home and more people are infected every day. Death tolls are rising. Jobs are in jeopardy. We are told to be socially separate. Other drastic measures are being done and even further may be taken. Many churches have cancelled their services. Isn’t it interesting that as much as man wants to be rebellious to God and live in sin, that God shows who is in control and who can change the world in a matter of hours and days! We are being told the worse is yet to come. Looks like more perilous days are coming. So, what are we to think about that?
There Is Only One Thing That Can Never
Be Taken Away from You
The only thing you have that cannot be taken from you is your real, intimate, personal, and passionate relationship with God. Everything else can be taken away. Your job, home, family, and health. Listen carefully, right now is the time to make your relationship with Jesus Christ real!
Ask God the question every day. Is there any sin that stands between You and me? When He shows you the sin, confess it and repent from it. Spend time with your Bible. Learn to ask God questions? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you. Let Him become precious to you as He teaches you. Let Him open the Word to you! Since your relationship with God cannot be taken away from you develop it! Make it deep and passionate! Just trust God for the next moment. Don’t panic! Turn each fear over to God as it comes up.
Here Is Something Very Important to Remember, God Loves You!
When a person got saved in the last 41 years of our ministry, we had them to read I John every day for 30 days. Why? Because we wanted them to see God loves them. He tells us so 33 times in the book of I John! So, what are we to think in perilous times?
I John 4:10, Herein is love,…that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins
4:11, If God so loved us, we ought also to love one another
4:12, If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
4:18, There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment
Did you notice here that fear has torment. God does not want us to think about fear, but to think about love and trust! Why? He that feareth is not made perfect (mature) in love. A mature believer trusts God in the perilous and difficult times.
5:2, When we love God, and keep his commandments. We keep His commandments because we love Him, because He first loved us.
5:4, If you are saved trust Him by faith. Because your real faith will help you overcome the world. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Remember, be the vessel God can use today by asking the Holy Spirit to show you if you are living your life without real faith and trusting Him? Are you living in the sin of allowing selfish and carnal thinking or listening to rule your life and making you not focus on submitting to God and asking Him questions? Not trusting Him even when it looks bad? Be all you can be for Him today and have a powerful testimony of living a Spirit controlled
yielded godly life that is serving and living with humility, joy and peace! We encourage you today to make Jesus Christ real in your life by humbly
yielding to Him and living for Him, not the life of selfish carnal thinking and speaking. It is an important choice! Tell God you want to yield yourself to Him today and be a trusting, useful, and rewarded servant! Rejoice in Him today!
