Meet the Coomers
Dr. Terry Coomer has served as a Pastor, home missionary, Bible College teacher and is the Director of Hope Biblical Counseling Center. He has more than 47 years successful experience as a Pastor-Biblical Counselor and holds four degrees with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible, Graduate in Theology, Master of Theology, and a Doctor of Theology degree. Dr. Coomer is the author of several books, booklets, and articles and has taught and written extensively on Biblical Counseling and family related issues. Dr. Coomer believes in expository preaching and verse by verse Bible teaching. Dr. Coomer has taught through the New Testament verse by verse and has conducted fifteen National Biblical Counseling Training Conferences, where more than 2000 pastors, assistant pastors, missionaries, and lay people have been trained in Biblical Counseling. Our preaching ministry has taken us to 46 states and several foreign countries.
Addictions take many forms including such things as alcohol, illegal drugs, immorality, destructive and ungodly gossip, destructive and ungodly critical spirits, which are a huge problem today as well as anger (which is a very wicked sin), bitterness, depression, gambling, rebellion, fear, worry, doer mentality performance-based Christianity (non-Spirit controlled behavior-works orientation religion in the power of the flesh), pornography, and many other issues. We help people with these issues learn how to have a real, intimate, personal and passionate relationship with God by being a Spirit controlled person. We help parents who have out of control children change their behavior. We also help those who need help with their marriage to change their marriage to one that honors the Lord. You can have true spiritual victory in your life, home, and marriage. Romans 15:4,13.
Dr. and Mrs. Coomer have two adult daughters, who are married, and three precious granddaughters. Mrs. Coomer (Kim) taught Junior Church, and home schooled her two daughters. She has more than 47 years experience as a Pastor’s wife, Biblical Counselor, and more importantly as a godly wife and mother, Titus 2:3-5.
Both Dr. and Mrs. Coomer have had advanced training in Biblical Counseling. The counseling ministry of Dr. and Mrs. Coomer has helped many families across America find the Biblical answers to the most serious questions of life. They also have a counseling ministry to pastors and their families. We have helped many pastors and their wives with their marriage.
