Recommendations for the Ministry of  Dr. Terry Coomer
and Hope Biblical Counseling Center

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Coomer,
Our church had the opportunity and privilege to host the Hope Biblical Counseling Center National Training Conference this past week. I was unsure of what to expect as I have never had the opportunity to either go through counseling or go through counseling training. The four-day training was extremely valuable. In fact, a fellow pastor friend texted me the following….“one of the most profitable weeks I have ever had”. Wow! My thoughts exactly! It was four days of walking through the proven process of helping others with Biblical long-term change. Testimonies were given to back up the principles. It was also four days of personal revival. Topics were preached such as anger, bitterness, keeping our children’s hearts, communication in marriage, walking with God, dealing with lusts, and many others. They were taught using many, many Bible verses, God’s Word, which changes lives. They were taught so we could teach others but taught to us as Christians first. God knew what I needed, and God showed me many things to work on and challenged me to begin new habits in my daily walk with God. I am excited to see the fruit of those four days not only in my own personal life, but also in our church moving forward. Dr. Coomer is a gifted Bible teacher, and it was a privilege to sit under his teaching. He has a heart to help others and a special gift from God to do so. He is a friend to pastors and missionaries. I am thankful that God crossed my path with him, and that God allowed me to go through the training. I would encourage any pastor to take advantage of any future training conferences. It will give tools and allow the Holy Spirit to take the Word of God as it is taught those four days to apply long-term Biblical change in your life as it did in mine. Thank you Dr. Coomer for your ministry.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Coomer,
We had been praying for some time for this past week of meetings; then the time to begin had arrived; and now, the meetings have been completed. Sometimes it is hard to fathom how quickly a window of spiritual opportunity comes and goes. In many ways, only God can measure the true significance in the lives of those who faithfully seized upon this opportunity and for those who neglected it. As we had prayed in preparation for these meetings, I encouraged our church family to pray for these three specific requests: 1) Ask the Holy Spirit to prepare their own hearts to be ready to receive God’s Word, to mold, convict and change their own lives. 2) Intercede for others to come and be spiritually helped through the messages. 3) Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead Dr. and Mrs. Coomer to bring just the right messages [Mrs. Coomer spoke to the ladies.].The Lord graciously answered all three requests in mighty ways. Our church family listened very intently, ready to receive the spiritual help they needed from God’s Word. I cannot count the number of folks that said, “This is what I learned and needed for my life now.” Likewise, we had one return to attending services and other guests that found great help through these meetings. While it should not be a surprise, it is always amazing what can happen when leadership is yielded to the Holy Spirit from the pulpit to the pew and through the Word. As I had mentioned, only God can truly measure the significance of this meeting. For some it was that line upon line and precept upon precept building time for their lives. But, for others it was a time that completely changed the course of their life from spiritual tragedy to spiritual victory. For the latter ones, they may not even realize the full scope of the self- inflicted hurt and tragedy that these life-changing decisions will have rescued them from experiencing. God’s goodness is without measure and God’s Word works marvelously when skillfully used by God’s man. We are delighted with the initial responses that we experienced during these meetings, but the greater joy will be reaping the fruit of these meetings over the coming weeks, months and years. We rejoice that our Lord has given us the privilege to be a part of His great work this week (for without Him, we could have done nothing of eternal value.). Thank you for coming and we look forward to your return.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Coomer,
Thank you for the Hope National Biblical Counseling Conference at our church! This was a Phenomenal Conference! The Hope National Biblical Counseling Conference is the Best conference I’ve ever attended. Absolutely Amazing! All the attendees at the recent conference overwhelmingly agreed – nothing but appreciative and laudable remarks were addressed. Dr. Terry Coomer’s focus on Biblical principles to counsel people in a variety of issues is on-the-spot and the attendees could not get enough of it. From several people that I spoke with, the desire to keep the conference going longer than anticipated could not be quenched. They simply didn’t want it to end. Many said they couldn’t wait to attend the next conference, which is to be held  again at our church. Dr. Coomer’s thorough explanation of principles designed to highlight problem areas of life, and the impending resolve kept the audience absorbed – quite simply, captivated. His simplistic way to find resolution to the issues that plague all people, plus giving them the ability to transform through having a personal, intimate, and passionate relationship with God proved invaluable. It is a life-changing event and many lives changed during the conference. There are several courses out there, several conferences, but this one is without equal. There is so much to say about it, so much to applaud, yet there is only one way to find out about it and that’s by attending one of these conferences – you’ll be impressed by God’s hand in this work.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Coomer,
We are praising the Lord for allowing us to host the Hope Biblical Living Conference and praise the Lord for being faithful and merciful in bringing us the teaching that we needed at the right time. I want to share how the Lord showed me some things in my life that needed to be shored up. We can very easily deceive ourselves into thinking that we do not have any bitterness or anger in our lives, and yet, when the Holy Spirit of God is allowed to search our hearts, it becomes very evident that we all have a dark side, and often there is sin lurking in that darkness. I was able to get some things right in my heart and praise the Lord for using the conference to help myself and our church family. There are many in our church family who have commented on decisions that they have made in their lives. We praise the Lord for this! I have also met with our church staff, and everyone is excited to go through the “How to have a Real Relationship with God” booklet and study and practice these truths. We are then praying about integrating this into our Children’s ministries. I truly believe that this is what our churches are missing today; A Real Relationship with God. Thank you, Dr., and Mrs. Coomer, for being faithful and serving the Lord through this ministry. I am looking forward to the next opportunity to attend another Hope Biblical Living Conference.

Dr. Coomer,
Thank you again for all your labors on our behalf, and for sharing the spiritual tools you shared with us. Below is my testimony of the conference. What a blessing it was for us to host the Hope Biblical Counseling Conference.  Dr. and Mrs. Coomer arrived on site with a servant’s heart and desiring to encourage others. He and his wife certainly exemplified Spirit-filled living while they were here. Many in our congregation were touched by the Holy Spirit as they were given tools to develop a real relationship with God and practical insight to walking in the Spirit, and God dealt with many hearts in a short time. My personal faith grew, and I was encouraged knowing that if I can apply these simple truths and pass them on to my children and to other believers, that many pitfalls resulting from living in the flesh can be avoided and that there is hope for people no matter what they are facing in life. Certainly, hosting and/or attending a Hope Biblical Conference is well worth it personally and as a church. Many of our people are still talking about what they have learned and are working to put into practice the simple, practical principles they learned. With little emphasis in the church today on developing a real relationship with God, and walking in the Spirit, Dr. Coomer hits the nail on the head as to where people’s problems are coming from today and how they can have hope to overcome them. As a pastor, I was equipped with practical tools to help people with their problems. Every pastor ought to carve out the time to get to one of these conferences.

Dear Dr. Coomer,
Greetings in Jesus’ pure and powerful name! It was an honor, joy, and privilege to host the Hope Biblical Counseling Conference at our church. A hearty thank you to you and Kim for being willing to come and for allowing the Lord to use you both to be a mighty blessing in all of our lives. The Christ-centered, Spirit-filled preaching and teaching were refreshing and convicting. My heart was deeply challenged in every session as we were shown from Scripture how to have intimate fellowship with God and experience daily victory by pursuing spiritual and emotional maturity. Over a dozen testimonies were shared this past Sunday evening by those families who were able to attend the Conference expressing their gratitude to God for the practical help and hope they received to make lasting spiritual changes. Praise God! My only regret of the week is that all the members of our church could not be there for the impact. The fellowship with you and Kim was encouraging. Thank you again for your dedicated and humble service to our Lord Jesus Christ in so effectively and passionately magnifying His holy Word among us.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Coomer,
Just a quick note to say thank you for coming to our church for our Family Conference. This meeting has generated more spiritual fruit in our church than any meeting that we have ever had! The messages that you preached were without question the very ones needed to address the issues that are destroying Christian homes today. I am so glad as Pastor to see my people being moved by the Lord to develop a real, personal, passionate relationship with the Lord in their lives! Thank you for bringing your books and pamphlets. I say all the time, we are what we read, and the people have materials now that will help them for years to come! In 2015, when I brought my pastoral staff to your first Hope Biblical Counseling Training Conference, I had no idea the effect that it would have on us all, nor could I have imagined the blessing it would ultimately be to my church. God bless you and Kim as God uses you in this tremendous ministry!

Dear Pastor Coomer,
Here is my testimony from the conference. When we had Dr Coomer come to our church in Ireland, my thought was that the conference would be good for our church people personally, as well as a help to all of us in our outreach to others. For myself, I was looking for some solid steps of how to walk through a counseling session with a person in need. In the Sunday services before the conference, and again on the first day of the conference, the Lord really opened my eyes to how often I allow busyness to cause my personal relationship with Him to become mechanical. Many times, I was going through the motions, but not taking the time to meditate on the Word of God and be still and listen to Him speaking to my heart. The reality that I cannot help others with any issue until I first have a real, daily, passionate relationship with God, became apparent to me through the very practical teaching of God’s Word. Many people in our church are making some great decisions and spiritual changes in their lives. The conversations around the church have become more God focused, and less about the frivolous things surrounding our lives. We praise the Lord for the Coomer’s and the way they have allowed the Lord to use them in this ministry. This was a life-changing event for me.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Coomer,
Since being introduced to your ministry in 2015, and attending the first Hope Biblical Counseling Training, my life and ministry have changed drastically for the glory of God. Thank you for being used by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Christ-centered, Spirit-filled preaching and teaching were refreshing and convicting. It shocked me that I was not previously shown these clear truths from the Word of God. Too many pulpits have a misunderstanding of Christianity and our relationship with Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. I cannot thank you enough for how you have helped me. Over the years, as I have had the privilege of sitting under your ministry through various conferences in different churches across numerous states, I have grown deeper in my love and devotion for Jesus Christ. My relationship with God has been blessed and deepened. As a pastor, you have helped the people within my church. You have caused us to rethink our walk with God and shown us the vitality of life that is found in an intimate walk with God. It is with sure confidence that I recommend you and your ministry to other churches. Again, thank you for your ministry.

Dear Brother Coomer,
With over 140 people registered for the Hope Biblical Counseling Seminar, the stage was definitely set for God to meet with us. And He sure did! Of course, for our church, the week started on Sunday with twenty-four of our families dedicating their children to the Lord. The services were “spot on” for giving us a primer for the rest of the week. Tuesday came and we had over twenty pastors, and what excited me is that over eighty of our church people registered and came for the entire week. Many have commented to me regarding the help they have received. Our church theme this year is “Holiness Unto the Lord” and God has been doing a good work in us. I believe that the help and training we received during the week of meetings further prepared and equipped us for the trials, troubles, battles, and ultimate victories that life throws our way. The truth, so dynamic and yet practical for us, is the way to handle situations that come into our minds that help us think right. “Stop;” “Think;” “Turn it over to God;” and pray “Lord, what do You want me to praise You for and what do You want me to thank You for?” This is transformational Truth. I trust God will continue to enlarge your vision and open more doors of opportunity to share what was shared with us to also help others. God bless you, my friend!

To whom it may concern,
I  had the privilege of having Dr. Terry Coomer preach in the church I pastored for 22 years. He was very effective in his ministry to our church and helped our families. Dr. Coomer’s burden for helping God’s people in Hope Biblical Counseling Center by counseling, preaching, teaching, and writing makes him a man in demand. He not only has a worldwide ministry on the web, but an effective ministry in writing, and many years pastoral experience. As you can imagine, when you help people, your church grows as folks apply biblical truths. I had the privilege of preaching to his church in the past. We have become close friends. Select one of his resources. Invite him to come to your church. Join his mailing list. You will not be disappointed.

Dear Dr. and Mrs. Coomer,
I wanted to write to thank you and Kim for bringing the Hope National Biblical Counseling Training Conference to our  church.  This truly was a life-changing time of learning and growth for many who attended (they have told me so). Your teaching and preaching was full of practical Biblical truths for making lasting changes in a person’s life. It was encouraging, motivating, challenging, and uplifting! The conference itself and the fellowship with other pastors and laypersons was truly a blessing to our church! When my wife and I attended the conference at your church two years ago, it was a great blessing to us and helped us in our own lives and gave us great teaching in order to help others. We are excited to see what the Lord will do in the lives of those who attended this conference at our church! I highly encourage Pastors and their wives, church staff, and lay-persons to attend one of your conferences! Thank you again, and may the Lord bless you as you continue to serve Him in this tremendously valuable and helpful ministry!

Dear Friends,
In this day when Satan seems to be ensnaring so many families, the need for clear Bible preaching and teaching on family relationships is needed now more than ever before.  We thank the Lord that we have been brought into contact with Dr. Terry Coomer.  I can tell you from firsthand knowledge:  he has a deep passion to help churches build their most valuable asset-their families. Dr. Coomer has spoken several times to our church and college and left us with a greater desire to invest our lives into our families.  I have spent time with Dr. and Mrs. Coomer, and have also met his children.  They are an example of a godly Christian family.   Dr. Coomer preaches very clearly from God’s Word while covering both child-parent relationships and husband-wife relationships.  His preaching aims to strengthen strong points while mending damaged areas among the families.  His speaking ministry has blessed our church.

I would also encourage you to look at the Hope Biblical Counseling website.  The booklets and books of Hope Biblical Counseling Center, we encourage all our church people to read them. You will be encouraged and challenged because you did.  We would encourage you to consider having Dr. Coomer come to your church.

Dear Pastor,
If you are prayerfully considering having Dr. Coomer preach for you, let me share these thoughts with you.  I have known Dr. Terry and Kim Coomer for several years, attended two national conferences, and have had him preach multiple times in my church.  I not only count him as a friend, but a spiritual confidante wherein we can truly be that ”iron sharpeneth iron”-both encouraging each other in the Lord, as well as on some levels holding each other accountable before God.

Dr. Coomer has met and exceeded my expectations as a friend and guest preacher in many ways. I can trust him to truly pray and seek the Spirit’s leading about the meeting. , timing and each specific message. While his ministry is specialized , he always brings something fresh from his daily time in the Word.  His preaching and teaching has produced long-term spiritual changes in the lives of many. He has a strong commitment to honor the Godly Pastor within the local church.  Then, because of Dr. and Mrs. Coomer’s compassion and commitment in serving the Lord, your church family will truly appreciate them and love them in the Lord.

I do not believe my relationship with Dr. and Mrs. Coomer is an anomaly; I believe  it is the “norm” because this is who they are in Christ.  If you believe the Lord would lead you to have them, come minister to your church, then you will be encouraged, your church family will learn real Bible answers that can transform their lives, and through it all, Dr. and Mrs. Coomer will give all the glory to God.

Greetings in the name of the Lord.  This letter is written in recommendation of Hope Biblical Counseling Center.  As I have had the privilege of pastoring these past years, it has not taken me long to learn of the great Satanic attack on the home. The Devil hates the home and has done everything in his might to destroy the home since creation and the Garden of Eden.

Dr. Terry Coomer and his precious wife Kim have been a tremendous blessing to our church.  Dr.  Coomer has preached for us on several occasions and has taught for us at our annual couple’s retreat. I can truly say that there have been positive lasting effects from these meetings.  Pastor Coomer takes the Word of God and applicably applies it to the great needs of the home. Pastor Coomer is a gifted teacher of the Bible and truly has a heart for this ministry.

Not only is teaching real and effective, but it is lived in his and in his and his family’s life as well.  My wife and I have spent time with Dr. Coomer and his family, and the message is lived “indeed and in truth.” With the home and the family under attack as it is today, it is mandatory that God’s people understand their God ordained roles as husband and wife, father, mother, and child.  Dr. Coomer and Hope Biblical Counseling Center can be a powerful tool in reaching, teaching, and protecting one of today’s great missionary fields…….the home.

Dear Dr. Coomer,
I want to  thank you for your friendship and how you have been a blessing to me and my family.  This note is to recommend the ministry of  Dr. Terry Coomer and Hope Biblical Counseling Center.  God has  given Dr. Coomer great wisdom in preaching and teaching of  God’s Word.  I have greatly enjoyed reading his books, booklets, and articles  and have  promoted them to other people.  I have  preached for him several times in his pastorates.  Mrs. Coomer is a spiritual and dedicated wife who stands unreservedly behind her husband’s endeavors.  They will be a blessing and encouragement to your church.  I would encourage you to have them for a conference.  You will not be disappointed.
